Inspiring?…I’m still figuring out!
SWEET ME UP
Once more brooding over nothing (and yet there’s always something), the noun sweetness popped out. Not because I had tried a delicious celery sorbet the day before, but essentially ‘cause there are just to many “sugary” things that can taste even sweeter than dessert itself. Why then, should this word only be linked to taste, expression or behavior? Instead of actually been an attitude of happiness and positivity towards (once more), small yet incredibly big events…those that make everyday happier…that in the end are those that actually matte. For all big and planned circumstances, have highly expectations implied, hence are more predictable…which can only turn in less excitement.
I thought of naming this post the dessert of life, as my metaphor of how every single mellow nicety (just like desserts), take effort, but make life more exquisite and joyful. Here some examples of details/efforts that just sweeten up every single given day, and that I find worth “sinning” pleasurably for…
-
Inviting friends over for a home cooked dinner in the middle of a tiring working week.
-
Running for happy hour to relax with friends after a busy day (that can be both stressing at the beginning, and also relaxing - this last one being caused by both good company and alcohol).
-
Enjoying an afternoon of yoga and salad with your girls…then “enjoying” the muscle soreness the day after.
-
Finding time to go look for that one special/superficial thing your friend is looking for…not caring at all about what it is.
-
Go pick up your loved one after she/he is out with his/her pals…‘cause you simply understand that searching for parking lot in the city center, can be a nightmare (specially after work, when you realize you only have around 3-4 hours of freedom and you definitely don’t want to spend them going round in circles).
-
Answering to your friends’ complicated favor/emails in between the week, even if you feel like just taking a bath and eating take out.
-
Helping your friends find deals so they can go on vacations to a better, subtler place with a nicer view and a cheaper price.
-
Taking the time to Skype with friends even if shortly, so you celebrate all the good things that have happed to both of you since you last talked.
-
Preparing breakfast to your bf, after a dinner+wine-working-day-night-out the day before (even if is only tea, this means hell of a lot of effort and amour)
-
Laying to your boss so you can have permission/vacations - truth is can’t miss your friend’s graduation ceremony + party or 30th awesome bday.
-
One of the most important ones is not putting a shitty face/and not answering impatiently to others at work when you are having shitty day.
-
And the cherry on top of this cloying post is: preparing the Tupperware of your Chérie, taking into account what’s light, since she/he’s on diet…yet most of the times you offer to do it, as Murphy would predict, your refrigerator is empty and your “skinny” option is frozen yogurt.
Summing up, I am not a good person, I am selfish, egocentric and narcissist, but who isn’t, right? However I find so much rewarding to hide my flaws with the people I love…’cause making them happy makes me even happier and so much lucky to have them in my life! (Though, once again, is about me and my happiness…gosh!)
OMG, I just realized no conclusion about sweetness has been made…I’ll keep on thinking…
You just can’t go wrong with skinny jeans and converse!

I’m not shallow this is Entertainment

The other day I was scrolling through my posts and noticed how shallow some of them may sound, how people could think one’s life has no responsibilities, problems except from e.g. what should my next purchase be. And this is a common fact of blogs and Facebook phenomena in general. Luckily I do have way more personal and transcendental things going on in my life. I talk about these thought with the 3 Fs (Family Friends and Fools) only. However, I realized that, since I have fun writing I write about happy, cheerful, light topics, about things that can maybe pull out a smile or relax someone at work (unless maybe for some Branding posts).
I believe that - life is too real to be realistic - so why not to leave all concerns behind and allow ourselves to be shallow for the instant you stop and read, for the moment I stop and write, there’s nothing wrong with it. To me that’s the real splurge.

Despite the rain and snow almost all over Europe, let’s take a min. or two to enjoy the colorful just landed SPRING season!!
What can be fresher, yet still not refreshing (that’s up to more summery campaigns) than this representation of the Italian rich culture.
Although I would think twice before wearing a Dolce and Gabbana total look, it is undeniable to me that its cross collection brand consistency (regardless of the fact as a company they “forget” to pay taxes) is just a state of the art work in Styling and Branding.
Too bad tumbler doesn’t allow titles on image posts’…for that would need to be definitely My Absence…No justification, just time constraints, busy schedules, a bit of laziness and mainly some rethink of choices - career wise, but NO, no style wise…that’s been pretty stable so far, and that shows, in my opinion, a lot of equilibrium and steadiness that as an OVERTHINKER is much needed. About the picture, no, is not me, is simply borrowed, though that pretty much describes how I look these days!
